Grants of up to $20,000 and capital grants up to $50,000 to Ontario nonprofits for programs in the areas of health, education, and spiritual care that benefit youth and seniors in the London/Middlesex area. Proposals must demonstrate creative development of new programs that will make a difference to local residents.

Westminster College Foundation provides grants to registered charitable organizations in support of programs or projects that help advance and assist in the fields of education, health and/or spiritual care, focusing primarily on youth and/or seniors. However, other programs/projects may be considered on an individual basis. All applications must provide clear and concrete objectives for the program/project for which they are requesting funding.

Programs/projects should have a definite purpose, cover a specific period of time, and ideally will continue to have an impact after the grant is expended.

Westminster College Foundation offers a capital funding stream to charitable organizations in London/Middlesex and surrounding areas for initiatives that align with the Foundation's stated granting criteria.

Types of capital projects considered eligible:

  • New construction/renovations/repairs
  • Capital equipment
  • Technology and technology upgrades

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum amount of funding available is $20,000 for program/projects.

WCF will consider proposals for capital funding in the range of $20,000 to $50,000. The funds may be paid out one-time or optionally up to a 3-year time frame. Smaller, one-time capital expenses, less than $20,000 will be considered under the WCF Spring and Fall Program/Project Grant competitions.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Only non-profit charitable organizations with a charitable registration number in good standing are eligible to apply for a WCF grant. Organizations requesting funding must demonstrate that they have a strong committed Board, fiscal responsibility and management qualifications.

Grants are not made to support base operating expenses (including administrative salaries) of applicant organizations. However, salaries and expenses directly related to the program/project will be considered.

Any type of an administration fee tied to a request will not be funded through the grant.

Types of capital projects not funded:
- Annual capital campaigns and fundraising drives
- Costs already incurred

Grant applications are accepted twice a year in the Spring and Fall:

- March 1 of each year, for programs/projects that are expected to commence not earlier than the following July.
- October 1 of each year for programs/projects that are expected to commence not earlier than the following January.

Please ensure your application reflects the funding timelines as noted above. Complete applications must be received at the Westminster College Foundation no later than 3:00 p.m. on the deadline date.
