Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to Manitoba nonprofits in eligible areas for capital projects and materials serving charitable purposes. Funding areas include community services, culture, education, heritage, the environment, health, recreation, youth, and seniors programs.

Grants are intended to benefit the Rural Municipalities of Rockwood, Rosser, and Woodlands, as well as the Towns of Stonewall and Teulon.

Funds are intended for:
- Capital projects
- Materials for specific or one-time projects
- Materials for specific programs

Grants are awarded for definite purposes and for projects covering a specific period of time. Organizations seeking funds must demonstrate a strong and committed volunteer Board of Directors, fiscal responsibility, and effective management of resources. Preference is given to programs that promote volunteer participation, and that do not duplicate services provided by other organizations.

Grants are generally for less than $5,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are made only to organizations which are registered as charities with Canada Revenue Agency.

Grants must benefit residents of the Rural Municipalities of Rockwood, Rosser, and Woodlands, as well as of the Towns of Stonewall and Teulon.

The following are not eligible for grants:
- Labor costs
- Individuals
- Governments
- Annual Fund Drives
- Projects Already Completed
- To Establish or Add to Endowment Funds
- Direct Political or Religious Activities
- Pay Down Mortgages or Reduce Deficits
- General Conference Support

Pre-Application Information:

Grants are awarded on an annual basis in the spring of each year.

Applications must be postmarked or received by February 28, 2018.

The receipt of grant applications is not formally acknowledged and applications are dealt with in the order they are received. Applicants should allow at least 2 to 3 months for completion of the review process.

Matching or challenge grants may be made in appropriate circumstances to stimulate response from other sources.
