Grants averaging $5,000 to British Columbia registered charities and municipalities for projects that benefit the residents of the Regional District of the Okanagan-Similkameen. Applicants requesting multi-year funding must contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended for youth, seniors, education, health and wellness, culture, belonging and leadership, safety, environment, housing, better living standards, and employment.

Eligible communities include Penticton, Summerland, Oliver, Osoyoos, Princeton, and Keremeos.

The purpose of the program is to support activities that address community needs, positively affect a significant number of people, build effective community partnerships, improve organizational effectiveness and plan for continuation of the project beyond initial funding. Grants are available for capital projects or programs that have a definite purpose and cover a specific period of time.

CFSOS’s key funding priorities are its 2018 Vital Signs Report, the Youth/Young Adults, Seniors, and the Smart & Caring Communities Initiative.

CFSOS does fund wages if it is an expansion of an existing program or a new program being introduced.
