Grants totaling up to $20,000 to USA and Canada animal rescue and shelter organizations for educational programs, capital projects, and operational support. Eligible programs must provide services to wildlife, companion livestock, and small animals, such as cats, ferrets, rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, degus, sugar gliders, gerbils, reptiles, and tortoises. Funding is intended to support programs that find safe and permanent homes for small animals or rehabilitated wildlife.

Grants are awarded based upon an organization’s effective use of resources in providing quality animal care, home placement, education and community outreach.

Grant Categories:

Education and Outreach Support - Educational and outreach programs, training materials, leaflets, and videos.

Capital Improvement Support - Renovations, additions, new structures, and equipment purchases.

Operating Support - Normal operating expenses such as feed, utilities, and veterinary care.

- Wildlife Rehabilitation Organizations
- Animal Sanctuaries
- Other Specialty Organizations
- Organizations in the US and Canada

501(c)(3) status is not required to apply.

Animals that qualify:
- Small Animals which utilize Oxbow’s product line (Please note that the Foundation is unable to provide funding for spay/neuter surgeries in cats or any funding for dog-specific rescues or projects.)
- Companion Livestock such as alpacas, llamas, goats, donkeys, miniature horses, and others. (Please note that the Foundation is unable to provide funding for equine-specific rescues or projects)
- Wildlife

Organizations are eligible to receive grant funding in two out of every three calendar years. If you receive grant funding two years in a row, you are not eligible the following year.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be postmarked between June 1 and August 31, 2018.
