Grants of up to $500 and grants of up to $1,000 to British Columbia K-12 educators for specialized training and learning opportunities to improve their knowledge of the arts. Funding is intended to enable school teachers to attend or present at professional development sessions, clinics or workshops designed to increase the appreciation of the arts for teachers in BC schools.

Eligible projects must be:
- Catered to the professional development of K-12 teachers in BC schools;
- Designed to increase the appreciation of the arts;
- Planned for the future (i.e. not already started or completed).

Eligible expenses include: materials, supplies, professional fees, or transportation costs for presenters/clinicians and professional development workshops.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Individual educators can apply for up to $500 to support their own professional development.
Groups of educators can apply for up to $1,000 to support a professional development event for multiple people within the school or school district.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Kindergarten to Grade 12 educators and school administrators in British Columbia are eligible to apply for this grant.
- ArtStarts Professional Development offerings are not eligible for funding through this grant. Due to conflict of interest issues, ArtStarts cannot help you plan or facilitate a professional development opportunity through this grant.
- Please note: As this is a professional development grant for teachers, proposals for projects designed for young people are not eligible.

- June 30, 2019
- December 10, 2019

Application process
- There are two application intakes per year: April and October.
- Applications must be submitted before the deadline using the online form provided.
- Grants are distributed by lottery.
- A maximum of one application per organization per intake can be submitted.
- A maximum of one successful application per year per organization will be granted.
