Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations, provincial and territorial governments, and government agencies to strengthen the artistic, cultural, and heritage expressions and actions of official-language minority populations. Applicants must contact the program office to obtain the application materials.

Eligible expenditures include, but are not limited to, implementation costs to help ensure the long-term development of official-language minority communities in the area of arts, culture and heritage.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant recipients can be funded up to 100% of eligible expenses or $300,000 per fiscal year.

Term of Contract:

Funding may be requested for a project spanning more than 12 months. The applicant must then show that there is a need for a multi-year commitment and that they have the capacity to complete the project.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations include:

- Canadian not-for-profit institutions and organizations, duly registered; and
- Provincial and territorial governments /government organizations, and their creations

The following expenditures are not eligible: Capital projects; operation of organizations; regular coordination, networking and strategic planning; needs analyses and research; professional training; and activities with an international scope.

Pre-Application Information:

Deadline - May 25, 2020. The emailed application must be sent no later than 11:59 p.m. local time on the date of the application deadline for your application to be considered.

When an application deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday, it is extended to the following working day.

Applicants are required to contact the Official Languages Support Programs of the Department of Canadian Heritage to request an application package and to submit the required documentation.
