Grants to British Columbia registered charities to enhance the quality of life for local residents in eligible locations. Focus areas include community enhancement; health and social development; children, youth, and families; arts, culture, and heritage; recreation and sports; and the environment. Capital projects will be considered if there is a demonstrated need. Projects must benefit the people of the District of Squamish.

Priority will be given to applicants who specifically address a community issue outlined in the Vital Signs report.

Term of Contract:

Funds must be used by April 30th of the year following receipt of the grant.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be a registered charity: have a BN/Registration number or be put forward by non-profit organization with a CRA charitable registration number (BN _____ RR000-).

Organizations located outside of Squamish will only be eligible if their project operates in Squamish and with the involvement of local partners.

Grants are not awarded in the following cases:
- To retire debt or fund projects already completed.
- To fund religious organizations for direct religious activities
- To promote activities or support advocacy initiatives
- To establish or add to endowed funds
- To be used for annual fund drives for sustaining support
- To be used towards operating or capital deficits
- To support operating expenses of established organizations or programs except in extraordinary circumstances
- In general, grants are not awarded to the same organizations more the twice in five years

Pre-Application Information:

The Foundation accepts applications for Annual Grants each year between April 1 and May 13.
