Ontario Creates - Magazine Fund

Grants to Ontario print and digital magazine publishers to support efforts to develop and expand operations. Projects that incorporate responses to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis will also be considered. Funding is intended to support activities that increase revenue and strengthen operations.

Ontario Creates understands that COVID-19 has created many challenges across the creative industries. While the 2020-21 program application processes and deadlines will remain unchanged, please note:

Successful applicants are eligible to receive up to $75,000, depending on eligible sales revenue, capped at 75% of the total project budget.
Publishers may apply for the following levels of funding, based on eligible sales revenue:
Eligible sales revenue over $2,000,000
Total funding available per applicant: up to $75,000
Eligible sales revenue from $500,001 to $2,000,000
Total funding available per applicant: up to $65,000
Eligible sales revenue from $140,001 to $500,000
Total funding available per applicant: up to $40,000
Eligible sales revenue from $20,000 to $140,000
Total funding available per applicant: up to $35,000
For publishers with eligible sales revenues of less than $140,000, the total request for funding from this program should be in reasonable proportion to overall eligible sales revenue – i.e., approximately 25% of your eligible revenue.
Projects must be completed with Final Reports submitted by February 18, 2022.
