Grants to Newfoundland and Labrador individual artists and nonprofit arts organizations in eligible locations to support artistic development and arts programming. Funding is intended to support the local arts community and enhance the well-being of local residents. Eligible programs are within the disciplines of theater, dance, music, literary arts, film and new media, and visual art and craft, and benefit the residents of St. John's.

The Grants to Artists and Arts Organizations program has the following goals:

  1. To support the artistic development of individual artists.
  2. To support arts organizations in fulfilling their mandates.
  3. To contribute to the growth and sustainability of the St. John's arts community.
  4. To improve the well-being of the community.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Artists may request up to $3,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations shall be not-for-profit corporations or registered charities registered to carry on business and in good standing in Newfoundland and Labrador and shall provide any related documents as detailed in the application.

Individual Artists: Only individual applicants shall apply for financial assistance. Collectives or partnerships are encouraged to select a single individual to apply as the applicant.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on the last Friday of November. Ensure that you have completed all sections and enclosed all requested documentation. Incomplete applications will be considered ineligible.
