Grants and in-kind technical support to Ontario artists, artist collectives, and cultural organizations in eligible locations for building assistance. Funding is intended to help applicants ensure the sustainability of their creative spaces. Successful applicants will receive professional expertise from a technical resource group (TRG) to help them carry out a cultural building project that is currently in the review, development, or restructuring phase. The project must be located on the island of Montréal.

A choice of two support categories is offered:

  1. Project start-up:
    • A group currently considering a building project
    • A group that has a draft agreement with a property owner
    • A group with a signed offer to purchase.
  2. A project in the restructuring or development phase:
    • A group with an expansion project
    • A group with a pooling project in a space already occupied by one of the stakeholders.

Examples of what a TRG can do for a cultural organization’s building project:

  • Assistance in defining a building project
  • Financing and viability study
  • Search for a building or section of a building suited to the group’s needs
  • Search for financing
  • Assistance with legal issues related to a building project (governance structure, tenure type)
  • Project execution (coordinating project professionals, accounting, permit applications, etc.).
