Grants to British Columbia registered charities and municipalities for projects that benefit the residents of eligible locations. Funding is intended to support programming and capital projects. Eligible projects should address community needs, support collaborative efforts, improve organizational effectiveness, and plan for the continuation of the project beyond initial funding. Eligible applicants must serve the Regional District of the Okanagan-Similkameen.
Eligible uses of funds include:
Eligible uses of funds include the start-up of a new charity or project, wages associated with a specific program, bridge financing, capital costs, training costs, operating expenses like rent (under certain circumstances), and most other things. It’s important for applicants to understand that the Foundation wishes to invest in change, but change takes time. Grant funds should not be a revenue line item on an annual operating budget, but if applicants need an infusion of cash to get started (or stay afloat) then perhaps working together may be an option.
