Silver Dollar Foundation
Grants to Montreal, Quebec nonprofit organizations that are working to promote the positive development of young people at the pre-school, elementary school, and secondary school levels. Applications are invited for programs that offer personalized support to young people as well as their families. Programs may use collaborative strategies and aim to address the root causes that may put a young person’s development in jeopardy.
Specific criteria for academic perseverance:
-Strong link to schools and community partners
-Participation in relevant local and regional networks

Projects mat take place during the 2018/19 school year.
New in 2018: Organizations that have received support from the Foundation for at least 2 consecutive years may submit requests for multi-year funding.
The Silver Dollar Foundation will work with organizations that:
-Are registered charities
-Have programs focused on the Island of Montreal
-Have a solid reputation in the philanthropic and nonprofit communities
-Have proven financial management
-Have strong board engagement and sound governance
-Work in education, health, the arts, poverty alleviation, children and youth, the environment
-Are creative, forward-thinking and focused on long-term impact
The Silver Dollar Foundation will accept proposals for the 2018/19 school year in the winter of 2018, with a deadline for proposals of February 28, 2018. Granting decisions will be made and communicated in April 2018.
Eligible organizations are invited to submit a letter of inquiry.
The Foundation has limited staffing and grants capacity and can consider a limited number of projects each year. The Foundation will respond to all inquiries.
