Grants of up to $5,000 and grants of up to $10,000 to Alberta nonprofit societies and community organizations for projects that enhance community programming and benefit local residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to strengthen the capacity of local groups. Projects must benefit the residents of Canmore.
The Town of Canmore Community Grant Program is intended to provide up to 50% of the total expenses for one-time, project-based initiatives within two municipal funding streams:
1. Community Event Grant
Eligible projects under the Community Event Grant stream are for events that create Economic Development and promote the Town as a destination for activities that fit the community's identity while promoting a vibrant and engaged community.

Eligible projects under the Community Initiative Grant stream are for initiatives in sport, recreation, parks, arts, culture, social service, and the environment.
The purpose of the Community Initiative Grant is to provide one-time project funding:

Community Event Grant: The maximum funding amount that eligible projects may be awarded is $10,000.
Community Initiative Grant: The maximum funding amount that eligible projects may be awarded is $5,000.
For the Community Initiative Grant and Community Event Grant, projects must be completed within 12 months or less (from date of Letter of Agreement), unless an extension is officially granted.
