Grants of up to $250 to New Brunswick nonprofit organizations for projects and events benefiting Sackville residents. Funding is intended to support smaller events, initiatives, or projects; travel costs for local youth to attend conferences, tournaments, and training sessions; and attendance of the organization's volunteers at trainings or motivational events that will improve the quality of local leadership.

The Town Council has established the Community Development Grants Program to support local community organizations. Funding may be used in support of any type of activity that benefits the community including, but not limited to, Recreation, Healthy Living, Social and Community Service, Sustainability, Environmental Responsibility, Education & Lifelong Learning, Community Economic Development, Tourism, Heritage, Culture and Creative Arts. However, the Town Council places priority on projects that provide opportunities for:

  • Active and Healthy Lifestyles
  • Artistic and Cultural expression and learning
  • Sustainable community development, and building stronger more cohesive communities 
  • Residents to have enjoyable, rewarding leisure time activities
  • Positive personal growth and development (building resiliency, self-esteem and confidence)

The Sponsorship Program was designed to provide support to local organizations with smaller donation
requests.

The Sponsorship Program was designed to provide support to local organizations with smaller donation requests, to a maximum of $250.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

a. Groups must be a non-profit organization.
b. Groups must provide an ongoing service to the residents of Sackville.
c. Individuals are not eligible to apply.

Requests outside of the budget process may or may not be considered.

Community organizations who are already receiving monetary support from a Town of Sackville funded organization (i.e. Renaissance Sackville) are not eligible to receive any of the four Town operated Community Development Grants.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to submit an application is October 15, 2019. Grants are reviewed by a Town Management team and recommendations will be submitted to Town Council in February, 2020 for approval (budget pending).

Complete applications will be accepted by mail, email or in person at the Town of Sackville Town Hall.

Early submissions in advance of the annual intake deadline of October 15th of each year are encouraged to ensure compliance with application requirements and optimum chance for success within the approved Town budget.

Community organizations may be eligible to apply for assistance through more than one grant program providing the applications pertain to separate and distinct projects, programs or initiatives.
