Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 to New York nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies to benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support community-based events, projects, planning activities, and capacity-building efforts. Eligible applicants are located in and serve Sullivan County.

Sullivan 180 places special emphasis on good design and sustainability. Applicants are encouraged to reach out and make every effort to involve volunteers of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Projects must engage, empower, or impact youth. Youth involvement is required.

This program provides funding to  accomplish and implement community development-related goals through three grant categories:

  • Community Events:
    • New or expanded festivals or celebrations that promote cultural diversity, community, and youth engagement
    • Neighborhood-based events and activities that encourage interactions between residents 
    • New or expanded events that address a community health-related issue or encourage healthy activities
  • Projects/Initiatives:
    • Creation of trails, pocket parks, community gardens, outdoor art installations, murals, or other projects that encourage or implement placemaking tools
    • Initiatives that address a community health-related issue or topic and promote healthy, active communities
  • Planning &  Technical Assistance:
    • Professional services for landscape design, planning, or engineering for community buildings, parks, or trails
    • Architectural services or renderings for building design and façade restoration.
    • Capacity-building activities, conference attendance, or other professional development opportunities.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Municipalities, Nonprofit Organizations, and Schools in Sullivan County may apply.

Pre-Application Information
Grants will be accepted on a rolling basis as funds are available until August 15, 2025.

No match is required for Community Events. Projects/Initiatives require a 25% match (for grants over $500), and a 100% match is required for planning and technical assistance.

- Community Events: Up to $500
- Projects/Initiatives: Up to $5,000
- Planning and Technical Assistance: Up to $5,000

Term of Contract
Projects must be completed by October 1, 2025.
