Grants to Canada graduate students for research on respiratory conditions. Funding is intended for the training, education, and professional development of graduate students. Funding is also intended for research projects that contribute to an improved understanding of the mechanisms and treatment, management or cure of early-onset asthma (18 years or younger) or late-onset asthma (over 18 years).

Grant applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of reviewers including both scientific and clinical experts in the field of asthma. Only projects meeting full scientific standards and with a primary focus on asthma will be considered for funding.

In line with the grant's objective, eligible applications will then be ranked based on:

  • Potential contribution to improving Canada's overall capacity in the field of asthma research
  • Applicant's CV, taking into consideration the level of training
  • Specific relevance and potential importance of project to early-onset or late-onset asthma
