Pre-Application Information:

Application Deadline: Monday, June 29, 2020

Every effort is made to send out notifications to student grant applicants approximately two weeks after the grant application deadline and before the conference's Early Bird deadline. All applicants will be notified - both those who are being awarded a grant and those who are not - of their application status.

If you are applying for a grant and require a visa to attend the conference, submit your visa application as soon as possible. Visa applications for travel to USENIX conferences may require a letter from USENIX. To request an invitation letter, please email USENIX.

Do not register for the conference--even if you are an author or a presenter--until you are notified about your grant. If you receive a grant, you will be sent detailed registration instructions.

Applicants are also expected to attend the three full days of the main Conference Program, and to agree to be contacted by USENIX and grant program sponsors about future events and opportunities.

USENIX is committed to funding the attendance of as many students as possible based on need. However, funds for student grants are limited. Please do not apply for a grant if you have other funds available to you, such as through your faculty advisor, or if you have received a grant through USENIX in the past year.

Applicants can be awarded only one grant each calendar year. Those who qualify are welcome to apply for both a Student Grant and a Diversity Grant for the same conference, though only one grant will be awarded.
